HANNA – The Southeast High School basketball teams concluded the 2022-23 regular season with a road sweep of the Hanna-Elk Mountain Miners on Saturday.

The Cyclone boys raced out to a 22-4 first-quarter lead en route to a 57-32 victory.

Senior Cooper Larkin led the team with 11 points, while senior Kyler Clark added 10. Senior Austin Short and junior Cole Sauer tossed in eight apiece. Sophomore Kannon Tippetts grabbed a team-high five rebounds.

Meanwhile, the Lady Cyclones held HEM to only three points in a 53-3 victory.

In fact, all three HEM points came from the free throw line.

Seniors Sydney Anderson and Brenna Herring had 10 points each to lead the Lady Cyclones. Carson added nine.

The Cyclones now turn their attention to the 1A East Regional Tournament in Buffalo. Both Southeast teams are the No. 1 seed for their respective tournaments.

The Southeast boys open against Midwest at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, while the girls’ team plays at 10:30 a.m. against Hulett.

The tournaments wrap up on Saturday, Feb. 25. The championship games are scheduled for 1 and 2:30 p.m.
