TORRINGTON – The City of Torrington will soon be asking residents to refrain from parking on some streets next week. In a media release, the city explained a crack filling project will begin the week of April 7.

“The City of Torrington will be crack filling East A Street from Hwy 26 to 30th Avenue and East 22nd Avenue from East F to Crest View Drive sometime during the week of April 7. Construction will only take a couple of days, weather permitting, and we ask that you refrain from parking on theses streets until the work is completed,” the city released. “If you have any questions please call (307) 532-4815.”

On January 30, 2025, it was recommended the Torrington Town Council award a base bid to Highway Improvements of Sioux Falls, South Dakota in the amount of $57,670 with $17,330 in reserve for contingency for the FY25 Crack Fill Project with a project total of $75,000.

According to the city, the project consists of applying 79,000 LF of hot mix joint sealant to East A Street from Hwy 26 to East 30th Ave. covering 60,000 (linear feet) LF and East 22nd Ave. from East F to Crest View Drive covering 19,000 LF.

“Bid opening for the project was held at 2 p.m. on January 29, 2025. The five bids submitted were in conformance with the bidding requirements and are given below, as well as summarized on attached bid tabulation spreadsheet,” the city explained on January 30. “The contractor will be given 30 days to complete the project with a substantial completion date of April 11, 2025.”
