TORRINGTON – The Cotant’s Totes of Hope Food Drive is entering its final week of donations as organizers push to collect nutritious foods for local students before the Sept. 30, 2025, deadline.

Go Goshen is coordinating the food drive with donations being accepted at Pinnacle Bank in Torrington. The initiative aims to provide nutritious and easy-to-prepare foods to students in need weekly during the school year.

“Together, we can help ensure no student goes hungry this school year,” organizers said in announcing the final week of the drive. “Thank you, Goshen County for your generosity.”

The food drive seeks specific items designed to provide complete meal options for students. Requested donations include single chef boyardee-style meals, granola and fruit bars, juice boxes, individual applesauce and fruit cups, individual cold cereal boxes and individual hot cereal packets.

Additional items on the wish list include individual EZ macaroni and cheese, individual cheese or peanut butter crackers, individual packet fruit snacks, individual pudding cups and individual servings of beef jerky.

All donations should be dropped off at the Pinnacle Bank branch in Torrington during the collection period which runs through Sept. 30, 2025.

The goal is to provide consistent weekly food support to students who may face food insecurity when school meal programs are not available. The program focuses on shelf-stable items which can be easily prepared or consumed without extensive cooking facilities.

Community members interested in supporting the drive have until Sept. 30, 2025, to make donations at the Pinnacle Bank location in Torrington.

The initiative represents a community-wide effort to address student hunger and ensure local children have access to nutritious food options throughout the school year.
