TORRINGTON – Mark your calendars. The date of the annual Christmas parade has been scheduled. The Holiday Sleigh Soiree 2024 Christmas Parade has been set for Friday, December 6 at 6 p.m.

Parade goers will have the opportunity to mingle downtown and stop by local businesses while enjoying the Christmas festivities on Main Street. 

“We will also have some entertainment and Christmas card decorating at 21st and Main prior to the parade from 5-6 p.m.” Go Goshen Community Development Director Leanna Mattis explained. “There will also be businesses along the parade route with hot chocolate warming stations.

Parade line-up will start at 5:45 p.m. at the west corner of Main Street and 27th Street near the Torrington United Methodist Church. According to the entry form, there will be no staging areas for float entries. 

“When you are ready with your float, begin up the shoulder of the 27th street, turning south onto main,” the registration form explains. “If you are a performance group (dancers, cheerleaders, musicians, etc.) you are only allowed to stop and perform twice along the parade route. Your performance must be no longer than two minutes in length.”

Registration forms to participate in the parade must be returned to the Go Goshen office or emailed to leann@gogoshen.com prior to the parade.
