BROKEN ARROW, OKLAHOMA – Christan Paul Mai passed away on January 31, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. He was born on July 16, 1951, in Scottsbluff. He graduated from Torrington High School in 1969 and graduated with his Juris Doctorate (JD) in 1977 from the University of Wyoming.

He is survived by his wife, Linda S. Mai, his brother Fred (Linda) Mai, brother Dan (Norma) Mai, daughters Shannon (Nathan) Smith, Jenny Mai, Kortney (Thomas) Sourber, son Derek (Rebekah) Mai, stepdaughters Jane (Adam) Abramson, Sandy (John) Gildersleeve and stepson, Andrew (Beth) Seal. Belva Skinner and Teresa Mai were his children’s loving mothers. He had 12 grandchildren who meant the world to him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Carolyn Mai.

In his early career, he worked as a lawyer in the Attorney General’s Office in Cheyenne, then moved to Broken Arrow, Oklahoma in 1980, working as an attorney for several oil and gas companies starting with Citi Services Company in Tulsa. In 2000, he transitioned to a family law practice and retired in 2021.

Chris was an avid college football fan, enjoyed yard work, loved long road trips, but never wore a bigger smile than when he was riding his dirt bike. He leaves behind a legacy of love, wisdom and kindness.

A Service of Victory was held at his church, Immanuel Lutheran, in Broken Arrow on February 22, 2025.
