LINGLE – According to a Wednesday, August 7 press release from the Lingle Volunteer Fire Department and Emergency Medical Services, multiple emergency personnel responded to the report of a bus on its side with multiple occupants on the 100 block of east Main Street in Linlge during the early morning hours of Wednesday, August 7.
“At 3:59 a.m., Torrington Dispatch received a call indicating a cell phone had detected a crash at the location. Torrington Dispatch then dispatched medical, law enforcement and fire units to respond to the scene,” the department’s release explained. “Upon arrival, responding units found the bus facing east in the south ditch, at rest on the passenger side. The bus came to rest after colliding with the ditch and hitting a light pole. The bus had 13 occupants. One occupant had critical injuries, and units on the scene contacted Air Link to evacuate the patient to a hospital via helicopter. Lingle and Torrington ambulances transported the 12 remaining patients to the hospital.”
According to the release, US Highway 26 was reopened at 6:57 a.m. on Wednesday and Butler’s Truck Salvage and Towing removed the bus from the scene. The crash is under investigation by the Wyoming Highway Patrol.
The Lingle Volunteer Fire Department, Lingle Ambulance, Lingle Police Department, Torrington Volunteer Fire Department, Torrington Emergency Medical Services, Veteran Volunteer Fire Department, Goshen Hole Volunteer Fire Department, Goshen County Sheriff’s Office, Goshen County Emergency Management, Torrington Police Department, Wyoming Highway Patrol, Town of Lingle Maintenance Department, BNSF Railway and Air Link responded to the scene, according to the press release.
