TORRINGTON – Future Goshen County football players participated in the Football 101 Youth Camp hosted by the Torrington High School (THS) Blazers at the Old Wiseman Field from July 1-2.
Sixty-five young athletes enrolled in the program to learn football fundamentals in a “fun and safe environment,” said camp organizer Kendra Stienmetz.
Coaching staff and team members on the THS football team taught a variety of offensive and defensive skills over two days. The camp culminated with a punt-pass-kick (PKK)competition and a game of flag football.
“We love having our THS football team come and teach the kids and give back to the community,” Stienmetz said.
