CHEYENNE – Memorial services for Billy Lee (Bill) Erdman, 90, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, August 18, 2023 at the Lincoln Center at City Hall with Reverend Dr. Robert Smith officiating. Bill passed away August 11, 2023 at Community Hospital in Torrington. Cremation has taken place. A memorial has been established to Human Kind a service provider for special needs individuals at 1223 West 28th in Cheyenne, WY 82001. Bill was born June 23, 1933 in Lyman, Nebraska to Henry and Molly Erdman. He was the middle child. In 1945 the family moved to their farm near Huntley. He graduated from Huntley High School in 1951. In 1953 Bill was drafted into the US Army and honorably discharged in 1955 when he returned to the family farm. In 1972 Bill married Linda Simonsen Garrelts and they have one daughter Shellie Erdman. In 1973 Bill started his cattle feeding business and continued feeding cattle everyday until his passing. In his early years Bill and Linda enjoyed raising and racing quarter horses. They ran at racetracks in Wyoming, Montana, Colorado and Nebraska.
Bill is survived by his wife Linda; daughter Shellie of Cheyenne; step grandchildren Corey, Lacey and Briley of Colorado; four step-great-grandchildren; and nephews Randy, Brian and Toby Kimsey and their families. He was preceded in death by his parents Henry and Molly; brother Glen Erdman; three brothers-in-law Ralph Kimsey, Jerry Simonsen and Emmett Coxbill; nephew Max Erdman; step-son Gary Garrelts; and step-great grandson Miles David Skrdlant.
