GOSHEN COUNTY – A bench warrant was recently issued for Nathan Wallman (44) of Torrington for a failure to comply with conditions of release.

According to the pretrial management order filed on March 6, Wallman entered a plea to five counts of animal cruelty during his arraignment on November 15, 2024, and a bench trial had been set for March 4. Records further explain Wallman wished to proceed with a jury trial and a pretrial conference was set for May 29, 2025, at 10 a.m. and a trial date of late June was scheduled.

A petition to revoke bond and issue a warrant was file on March 21, 2025, where a bench warrant was issued the following day.

“On November 15, 2024, the defendant (Wallman) appeared before the Eight Judicial Circuit Court for his initial appearance and the court set a certain bond condition for the defendant which included: a) Defendant shall feed, water and care for all horses owned by the defendant or otherwise in his custody,” the petition reads. “The state has been notified by the Goshen County Sheriff’s Office that the defendant has failed to provide food and water for the horses that he left at Richard “Dick” Saul’s property.”

Wallman is 5’9”, 150 pounds with black hair and hazel eyes.
