TORRINGTON – The Torrington Lions Club held its 2024 Holiday Bazaar this past weekend at the Rendezvous Center, attracting over 300 people who were ready to kick off the holiday season. The event brought together 45 vendors, featuring local crafters, artisans, and other vendors.

Among the attractions was a wide variety of goods from local vendors, offering everything from handmade crafts and local foods, to unique holiday gifts. Guests were also treated to a visit from Santa Claus, who handed out candy to children in attendance. Families enjoyed the festive spirit with a fun coloring contest for kids and a concession stand serving delicious treats throughout the day.

One of the highlights of the event was a presentation by Sarah Birdsall, this year’s Miss Merry Christmas, who made an inspiring appearance. Her participation added a special touch to the event, embodying the spirit of giving and community involvement.

The event was not just a celebration of the season but also a fundraiser to support the Lions Club’s ongoing charitable efforts. With the support of the community, the Torrington Lions Club raised just over $5,000. These funds will be used to continue their vital work of providing eye glasses and surgeries to individuals in need within the local community. In addition, some of the proceeds will help fund the Lions Camp, which provides valuable services and recreational opportunities to those in need.
