WYOMING – In a recent press release, the Wyoming Game and Fish Department announced the department and the First Hunt Foundation are offering a mentored pheasant hunt for Wyoming youth on October 20.
“This is a fantastic opportunity to put skills into practice alongside experienced hunters,” the release explained. “This hunt is for kids ages 10-18. Participants will start the day at 9 a.m. on the shotgun range at the Goshen County Sportsmans Club, learning how to properly handle and shoot a shotgun, safely hunt for pheasants and clean and process pheasants.”
According to the release, participants will travel to the nearby Spring/Bump Sullivan Wildlife Habitat Management Area after shooting exercises and training. Parents will need to be in attendance to transport their children between events.
“To participate, kids must have completed hunter education and possess a valid game bird license, conservation stamp and pheasant stamp. Participants will be accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis,” the release explains.
