LINGLE – Funeral services for Anna Lea Miller, 90, will be held 2 p.m. April 15, 2024, at the Lingle Community Presbyterian Church with Rick Carroll officiating. Burial will follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Lingle, and the casket will be closed. 

Anna Lea passed away peacefully April 3, 2024, at Torrington Community Hospital with her loving family by her side. Memorials can be given to the Lingle Volunteer Fire Department or the Lingle Senior Center in Anna Lea’s name. Anna Lea was born January 9, 1934, on the family farm south of Morrill, Nebraska to Harold and Fern (Powell) Rawlings. After graduating from Morrill High School in 1952, she worked for the FBI in Washington, DC for a year. Then worked at Schultz Drug Store until marrying Bob Miller in December of 1954, while he was serving in the Airforce. She was a past member and honored queen of Job’s Daughter Bethel 29 in Morrill. She was involved in many different groups including W.I.F.E (Women Involved in Farm Economics) and being a member of the Royal Neighbors of America. She farmed with her husband Bob for thirty-three years in the Lingle and Huntley area. Many of her family members knew her as “Grandma Rooney” and “Aunt Rooney”. 

Anna Lea found joy in lots of things that she did, but her biggest joy in life was her family and friends whom she loved very deeply being a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and friend to many quoting “My family and friends were my reason for living” She will be deeply missed by all those who loved her. 

Anna Lea is survived by her son’s Larry (Kathy) Miller and Mark (Debbie) Miller, granddaughters Jennifer (Dudley) Booth, Kristi (Dave) Collins, Stephanie (Steve) Geis and Lindsay (Anthony) Evans, great-grandchildren Connor and Kaleb Booth, Liberty, Justice and Revere Collins, Maggie, Morgan, Maddie and Mason Geis and Peyton Evans. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bob Miller, infant sister Kathern Jane Rawlings, infant children Scott Edward and Karen Rae. Sisters Sue Jackson and Betty Jo Scoggan, great-grandson Lil Dave Collins, brother in-laws Harold Jackson and Bob Scoggan and her niece Cindy Reinhardt.
