Harris snags all-American honors

GAINESVILLE, FLORIDA – Three Goshen County alumni represented their respective colleges at the 2025 NAIA national indoor track championships in Gainesville, Florida, from Thursday, February 27 to Saturday, March 1.

The season-culminating event took place at the Alachua County Sports and Events Center in Gainesville.

Dickinson State University senior Corbin Harris, a graduate of Torrington High School, clinched seventh place in the men’s shot put to garner all-American honors. Harris advanced to seventh place on the shot put leaderboard on his third throw on Saturday, hitting a mark of 53 feet, 9 inches (16.38 meters).

Harris also took 15th place in the weight throw on Thursday with a mark of 56-07 ½ (17.26 meters).

Southeast High School alumna Harper Boche, a freshman at Concordia University-Nebraska in Seward, clinched 18th place in the women’s shot put on Saturday with a mark of 39-06 ½.

Dickinson State University senior Scott Woodruff, a Torrington High School graduate, competed in the men’s shot put, recording a scratch on each throw.
