DOUGLAS – After an opening around bye, the youngest Torrington All-Star got the Wyoming Little League District No. 2 Tournament started with a 12-2 run-ruled victory over the Laramie Minor All-Stars.

Laramie jumped out to a 2-0 lead on Torrington in the top of the first, but the Torrington 9-10-year-olds returned the favor with six runs in the home half of the first.

Caden Ryall and Preston Stratton got the offense going with a double and a triple. Hudson Hoffman tied the game at two each with a double. An error scored Hoffman, giving Torrington a 3-2 advantage.

Gunner Werning, Owen Shimic, Hudson Evans, Reed Curry and Jacob Hibben also reached base in the inning, aiding the six-run frame.

After the first inning, Torrington only allowed two more Laramie base runners for the remainder of the game.

The All-Stars added two more runs in the bottom of the second courtesy of a sacrifice fly by Stratton and a Laramie error.

In the third, Cassius Gonzalez walked with the bases loaded, pushing the Torrington lead to 9-2, and Curry added to the lead with an RBI ground out.

Leading 11-2 heading into the bottom of the fourth, Jax Bruch capped off the win, scoring from third on a passed ball.
