A large crowd of local residents gathered at the Goshen County Senior Friendship Center on Wednesday for the “How to Avoid Fraud/Scams/Identity Theft Workshop.” Wade Bruch, a loan officer at Pinnacle Bank of Torrington, addressed the different types of fraud and identity theft; explained phishing, social engineering, and spoofing; offered fraud and identity theft prevention tips, provided information on the “Do Not Call List” and credit review; and detailed the steps necessary following an occurrence of fraud or identity theft. Goshen County AARP Community Action Group, AARP Wyoming, Pinnacle Bank of Torrington and the Goshen County Senior Friendship Center sponsored the free event.
