TORRINGTON – Main Street Market employees worked selflessly to help aid those in need this holiday season. During checkout, donations were collected to help feed locals and prevent hunger throughout the community. These donations resulted in a check from Main Street Market to WyoHelp for around $1,000.

GOSHEN COUNTY – At its first regularly scheduled meeting since swearing in new board members in early December, Goshen County School District board members voted on its new board leadership for the 2023 year as well as discussed how it plans to tackle tough topics in 2023.
TORRINGTON – The Christian Thrift Store opened its doors on Dec. 9. This is a new thrift store located at 6617 US-85, on the south side of town across the street from Cherry Creek Metals. Their hours are Friday and Saturday from 1 to 4 p.m.

GOSHEN COUNTY – A cold snap is preparing to move in the area midweek through the end of the work week.
TORRINGTON – Eighth District Circuit Court Judge Nathaniel Hibben and Wyoming Supreme Court Justice Keith Kautz spoke to Mr. Chavez’s Torrington High School Modern American Studies class about the judicial system, the branches of government, judicial appointment, jury bias, Fifth Amendment rights and Miranda rights. Hibben spoke to the class Tuesday, Dec. 6 while Kautz spoke to the class on Thursday, Dec. 8.

TORRINGTON – Monday marked a special day in the Catholic Church. The Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe is celebrated each Dec. 12 to commemorate the appearance of the Blessed Virgin Mary to Juan Diego in 1531.
GOSHEN COUNTY – Goshen County Commissioners discussed several road updates at its December meeting as well as several grant contracts the interim emergency manager is working on securing for the county.

TORRINGTON – Former Wyoming Secretary of State Edward Buchanan was sworn in as the newest judge for the Eighth Judicial District Court of Wyoming on Friday, Dec. 9. Buchanan, along with his family, were present for the ceremony where several members of the Wyoming judiciary and state government spoke on behalf of Buchanan’s suitability for the position.
TORRINGTON – Blizzard conditions affected Torrington and the surrounding area on Tuesday and Wednesday, Dec. 13 and 14. While there are no official reports at this time in the city limits, the snowfall south of Torrington was estimated to be 11 to 13 inches. The maximum wind gust during this event was 50 to 55 mph on Dec. 13. The minimum visibility got down to a quarter to a half of a mile.
TORRINGTON – The Goshen County Sheriff’s Office hosted Shop with a Cop for local families Friday, Dec. 9. The event featured shopping with local law enforcement officers and supper and gift wrapping at the Elks Lodge No. 372.
