TORRINGTON – This weekend was the 2024 Scottsbluff Valley Street Rods Classic Cars on Main. More than one hundred cars were lined along main street for the people of Torrington to come and see. 

TORRINGTON – Many changes have come to Goshen County School District this year. There has been much talk about the successes of the staff and students. This week, the Telegram sat down with Superintendent Ryan Kramer and his thoughts on what the 2024-2025 school year looks like. 

TORRINGTON – September is Suicide Prevention month. A majority of people have been impacted by this in one way or another. This is why it is so important to talk about signs, preventative measures, and ways to keep you and your loved ones safe.

TORRINGTON – As the schools have gone to a four-day school week, Goshen County has been looking for alternative things for school aged kids to do on Friday. Goshen County Library has been working on constructive activities for local kids to do.

TORRINGTON – Twenty-three years ago, the United States was under attack. Since then, changes have been made to keep the country safer. According to Torrington Police Department Chief Matt Johnson, there were three big changes made to law enforcement.

TORRINGTON – Brian Young starts this week as the new CEO of Go Goshen. Many residents of Goshen County know Go Goshen through its active Facebook page, Events calendar, Goshen Bucks program, and tourism initiatives. Those are, however, just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to Go Goshen’s efforts to attract and grow businesses in the county. 

TORRINGTON – This year, principal James Catlin of Torrington Middle School is focused on making sure no kids slip through the cracks. He is utilizing the new programs the county has introduced to do this. 

YODER – The Yoder Town Council held their regular council meeting for September Monday at the Yoder Community Building.

LINGLE – It’s getting to be the perfect time of year to visit the pumpkin patch, and Ellis Harvest Home has added something new for the year.

TORRINGTON – Each summer, all the county libraries in Wyoming receive an adult book and a children’s book for quilting. These books are donated by the Wyoming State Quilt Guild.

TORRINGTON – Goshen County Public Library provides a number of resources to those who have a membership card. 

GOSHEN COUNTY – Leann Mattis is director of the Main Street program. For the last two years, she has been in charge of The Banner Project for our county. The Banner Project is a national program that is seen on main streets everywhere.

TORRINGTON – The Torrington City Council met for their first September meeting on Tuesday evening at 5:30 p.m. in the council chambers. Present were mayor Herb Doby, councilmembers Dennis Kelly, Shane Viktorin, Dr. Richard Patterson and Wayne Deahl. Viktorin led the attendees in the Pledge of Allegiance.

TORRINGTON – According to Lincoln Elementary principal Lana Swingholm, there are a number of new programs and methods the school is implementing to better benefit the learning of our young students.
