TORRINGTON – Hundreds gathered at the Goshen County Fairgrounds’ Rendezvous Center Friday for the 17th annual Torrington Rotary Club Wine
Tasting Gala.
The St. Patrick’s Day-themed event featured several raffles, a silent and live auction, appetizers, dessert and a commemorative glass for each attendee to use when sampling wine and beer.
“It’s been fun,” Isaiah Perez, wine broker for Young’s Market, which serves the western U.S., said in between filling glasses for passersby. “It’s a great event to showcase wine and meet people in Goshen County.”
The gala is the Rotary Club’s biggest fundraiser of the year, and proceeds go toward the organization’s many projects, including polio eradication, water purification, Alzheimer’s awareness and training, and foreign exchange program.
