TORRINGTON – After leading the Lady Trailblazers in several categories, Torrington senior Logan Murphy was named all-conference for the second year in a row.
“Logan is a really hard worker and leader for our team,” coach Jeff Halley said. “She is really a three guard, as she can shoot and handle the ball. Due to our lack of size, she had to play down inside and did a great job banging with the big kids.”
While in the post, Murphy racked up 9.5 points per game. She had 59 made buckets from inside the arc and knocked down 53 free-throws, both of which were team-highs. Murphy was a monster on the boards, averaging 8.4 rebounds per game, including 3.3 on the offensive glass per game. Throughout the season, the senior amassed seven assists, 59 steals and a team-high nine blocks.
Among east conference players, Murphy sat 10th in scoring, second on the glass, eighth in steals and 10th in blocks. The Lady Blazer had the fourth-most boards and ninth-most steals among all the girls in 3A.
Murphy was the lone Torrington girl to garner postseason accolades. On the 3A East all-conference list, Douglas led the way with five honors, while Buffalo kicked in three and Worland and Rawlins added two apiece. Newcastle, Thermopolis, Wheatland and Torrington all had one player named all-conference.
