TORRINGTON – The Torrington Lady Trailblazers soccer team fell in back-to-back games over the weekend, losing to Douglas at home on Friday 2-0 before falling on the road Saturday to Lander, 5-0.

Torrington came out hot Friday against the Lady Bearcats, but Douglas found the back of the net on a breakaway in the ninth minute to go up 1-0. The visitors pushed their lead to 2-0 in the 38th minute and they took that lead into halftime.

During the second half, Torrington held on to the ball and maintained possession for a lot of the time, but were unable to find the back of the net. The Lady Blazers managed to keep Douglas, the No. 2 team in the state, from scoring in the second half. Jenessa Derby came up with a big stop on a penalty kick in the 64th minute to keep the score at 2-0. Despite continued pressure through the final whistle, Torrington failed to score.

Lander 5, Torrington 0

Torrington went on the road Saturday to take on conference foe Lander. The Lady Tigers bested the Lady Blazers for the third time this season, winning this time by a 5-0 advantage.

Full stats for both games were unavailable to the Telegram at press time.

The two losses drop Torrington to 0-10-1 on the year, with an 0-2 mark in the conference. The Lady Blazers now sit third in the conference behind Lander (5-6, 3-0-0-1) and Rawlins (4-6-1, 1-1). Torrington will be looking for a win Friday for Senior Night, when it hosts Rawlins at 3 p.m., before heading to Buffalo on Saturday for a game at 12 p.m.
