DOUGLAS – Tristen Kingsley went 2-for-3 with a double and run scored as the Torrington Tigers American Legion baseball team opened the season Sunday with a 12-2 loss to the Douglas Cats.
“Overall I thought we had a good outing for our first game,” Torrington assistant Ryan Kath said. “We had a rough fifth inning with a couple of errors in the field. Other than the fifth inning, we played a very clean ball game.
“Daniel Wayland and Caeden Riley came in and pitched okay, nothing too fancy, but they gave our defense a chance to make plays,” Kath added. “We just have to make a few adjustments and get ready for Casper next weekend.”
Jackson Jones added a hit and RBI in three plate appearances and Sam Firminhac went 1-for-4 with an RBI and run scored.
