TORRINGTON – Both Torrington Tiger ‘C’ teams were in action on Tuesday evening against Casper teams.
The Tiger C-NE hosted the Casper Crush, while the Tiger C-SE team traveled to Casper.
The C-NE team swept the Crush 7-4 and 10-2.
In game one, Torrington led most of the game behind a strong pitching performance from Mac Hibben. The visiting Crush
Hibben went all seven innings for the Tigers in the win.
The second game was called after five innings.
The Tiger C-NE squad is now 18-3 on the season and have won 10 straight games.
They travel to Laramie this weekend for a weekend tournament beginning Friday and concluding on Sunday. Games will be played at Cowboy Field on the campus of the University of Wyoming.
Meanwhile, in Casper, the Tiger C-SE team dropped a pair of run-ruled contests. The Tigers were outscored 36-2.
In game one, Casper scored all 18 runs in the bottom of the first inning in an 18-1 loss.
Torrington managed to score a run in the top of the second in the three-inning contest.
Spencer Booth scored the lone Tiger run. Torrington didn’t record a hit, but Ty Albaugh, Colter McFarlin and Asher Baumgartner reached base via walks. Booth and Harrison Rodriquez also reached after being hit by pitches.
In game two, Casper plated eight in the first, two in the second and eight in the third in the 18-2 loss.
Torrington’s two runs came in the top of the third. The Tigers were once again hitless but were issued four walks.
McFarlin and Max Matthews scored the lone runs of the game.
The Tiger C-SE team returns to Jirdon Park on Wednesday, June 29 at 5 p.m. against Wheatland.
