GILLETTE – The Torrington High School soccer teams opened the season at the Gillette Soccer Jamboree.
Both teams saw the scheduled Friday opener postponed against Class 4A Campbell County, but Saturday’s doubleheader against Class 4A Thunder Basin kicked off the season.
Both Torrington soccer teams fell in a shutout.
The Lady Blazers dropped an 18-0 match to the defending Class 4A state champions, while the boys’ team lost 4-0.
Torrington returns to action on Tuesday, March 30 against Gering, Neb. The Lady Blazers (0-1) will be in Gering, while the Blazers (0-1) will host Gering. Junior varsity matches will begin at 4 p.m. with the varsity to follow at 6 p.m. at both locations.
