THS golf competes at Outlaw Invite

RAWLINS – The Torrington High School golf teams traveled to Rawlins for the Outlaw Invitational on Thursday and Friday.

The boys’ team finished fourth, while the girls’ team placed fifth.

Blazer senior Gage Gibson placed THS with a ninth-place finish. He had rounds of 84 and 77 for a two-day total of 161. Freshmen duo of Caleb Kelly and Braeden Reid finished 15th and 16th, respectively.

Kelly had rounds of 85 and 86 to finish with 171, while Reid had an 85 and 88 for a 173. Alex Waring placed 21st with rounds of 88 and 89. Mason Wilkes finished the weekend with an 184, following rounds of 96 and 88.

As a team, the Blazers placed fourth as the highest finishing 3A team in the tournament. Cheyenne Central won the tournament, and Cheyenne East was second.

In the girls’ division, Madyson Banister led the Lady Blazers with a 14th-place finish with rounds of 112 and 107 for a 219. Madison Gibson was 17th after rounds of 121 and 114 for a 235. Kaylee Pittman tied for 18th with rounds of 121 and 120 for a 241.

Torrington is back in action at the 3A East Conference tournament on Thursday and Friday, Sept. 8-9 in Worland.
