THS fourth, fifth at Cheyenne meet

CHEYENNE – The Torrington High School cross country teams wrapped up the regular season at the annual LeRoy Sprague Invitational at the Prairie View Golf Course in Cheyenne.

In the boys’ race, Ayden Loya led the Blazers with an 11th-place finish in 17 minutes, 36.99 seconds. Loya was the highest finishing 3A runner in the race.

Myles Wilson finished 20th in 18:15.90, while Weston Cronk was 22nd in 18:21.84. Michael Sandusky placed 35th in 19:44.08, while Kyland Fuller finished 39th in 20:02.06. Zeb Monoz was 43rd in 20:48.59.

As a team, the Blazers were fifth with 121 points. Cheyenne Central won the team title with 21 points, while Laramie was second with 67. Cheyenne East was third with 79.

In the girls’ race, Ada Merrigan led the Lady Blazers with a 22nd-place finish in 21:50.66, while Tyne Stokes was 28th in 22:30.62. Amberly Froerer, Callie Taylor and Tiffany Kruger placed 31st, 32nd and 33rd, respectively.

The Lady Blazers finished fifth with 132 points. Cheyenne Central won the team title with 22 points, while Cheyenne East was second with 63. Laramie finished third with 72.

The Torrington runners head to Douglas on Thursday, Oct. 14 for the 3A East Conference Meet in Douglas.
