THS boys third at conference meet

WORLAND – The Torrington High School cross country teams traveled to Worland to compete at the 3A East Absaraka Conference Meet on Friday, Oct. 15.

The Blazer boys’ team finished third with 94 points. Buffalo won the conference title with 33, while Worland was second with 50.

Junior Aydan Loya paced the boys’ team with a third-place finish in 17 minutes, 22.89 seconds. Sophomore Myles Wilson was 10th in 18:05.14. Senior Weston Cronk placed 17th in 18:45, while senior Michael Sandusky was 26th in 19:09.54. Senior Kyland Fuller finished 38th, while sophomore Zebdiel Munoz was 39th. Junior Collin Taylor rounded out the THS roster with a 47th-place finish.

In the girls’ division, sophomore Ada Merrigan led the Lady Blazers with a 12th-place finish in 21:50.49, beating out teammate and senior Tyne Stokes, who finished 13th in 21:54.03. Junior Amberly Froerer finished 26th in 23:04.29, while freshmen Callie Taylor and Tiffany Krueger placed 29th and 30th, respectively.

As a team, the Lady Blazers finished fifth with 110 points. Buffalo won the team title with 52 points, while Pine Bluffs was second with 79. Worland was third with 98.

The cross country teams wrap up the season in Ethete with the Wyoming Class 3A State Cross Country Championships hosted by Wyoming Indian High School. The 3A boys’ race fires off at 11 a.m., while the girls’ race is scheduled for a 12:45 p.m. start time.
