FORT LARAMIE – Memorial services for Terry Michael Barnes, 67, will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 2, 2018, at the Fort Laramie Community Center with Pastor Marty Rostad officiating. Burial of cremains will follow in the Fort Laramie Cemetery.
Terry died July 21, 2018 at his home in Fort Laramie and cremation has taken place. Memorials may be given to the Fort Laramie Country Church. The Colyer Funeral Home assisted the family with the cremation arrangements.
Terry was born Aug. 22, 1950, in Crawfordsville, Ind., the son of Francis and Esther (Freed) Barnes. He grew up in Indiana and received his education in New Richmond, Ind., graduating high school there in 1969.
He married Sue Hayworth on April 5, 1969. They moved to Fort Laramie in 2006, where he worked in the aggregate business until December 2017.
Terry enjoyed hunting, fishing, anything outdoors and spending time with family and friends. He was a member of the Fort Laramie Country Church and the Fort Laramie Fire Department.
Terry is survived by his wife, Sue, of Fort Laramie; a daughter Tracey Michael of Linden, Ind.; his mother Esther Barnes Rich; two brothers Marvin Barnes of New Richmond and Lenny (Marian) Barnes of Linden; a grandson Austin (Kelsey) Barnes of Lingle; and a granddaughter Hailey Michael of Linden and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father; a sister Judy Childers; step-father Charles Rich; and a nephew Robbie Childers.
