CASPER – The Southeast Lady Cyclones snagged a 42-28 win over Lovell this morning in Casper at the 2A State Tournament, ending the year on a win and finishing third.
The Lady Bulldogs held an 11-10 lead after the first frame, but the Lady Cyclones poured in 13 points in the second quarter to Lovell's 10 to take a 23-21 lead at intermission. Southeast continued to flex its offensive firepower in the third quarter, putting up another 13 points, while limiting Lovell to five, heading into the fourth up 36-26. Southeast held Lovell to two points in the final eight minutes of action to get the win.
The Lady Cyclones finished the year at 15-12. The third-place finish by Southeast comes on the heels of a consolation championship from last year's state tournament.
