Southeast falls on Senior Night

YODER – The Southeast Cyclones fell to 0-6 with a 36-7 loss to the Wright Panthers Friday evening in Yoder.

Wright scored twice in the first quarter, but the Cyclones answered in the second quarter.

Southeast chewed up much of the quarter with a 14-play drive which was capped off with a 2-yard run by Tate Carson. After Ryan Clapper added the point-after touchdown, it drew the Cyclones within a score.

The score remained 15-7 in favor of the Panthers through the third quarter and into the fourth.

A drive which started late in the third quarter ended up in the end zone for Wright just moments into the final quarter. The score was the start of 21 unanswered points for the Panthers as the visitors pulled away for the 29-point victory.

Southeast surrendered 262 yards of offense to the Panthers, while the Cyclones collected 141 yards.

Individually, Southeast quarterback Hayden Anderson was 8-of-13 passing for 72 yards. Carson led the Cyclones in rushing with 51 yards on 11 attempts and one touchdown. Carson also led Southeast in receiving with 51 yards on four catches.

Defensively, Greg Logsdon led the team with 5.5 stops, while Ethan Steinhausen and Patrick Swank added four each.

The Cyclones (0-7 overall and 0-5 in the 1A East Conference) will be back in action Friday at No. 1-ranked Big Horn (7-0 and 5-0). Kickoff is scheduled for 5 p.m.
