SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Shirley Katherine (Wunder) Deemer, 74, of San Antonio, Texas, passed away on Friday Oct. 25, 2019.
Shirley was born in Riverton to Rose and Conrad Wunder on Dec. 30, 1944. She graduated from Torrington High School. She married James (Jim) Clifford Deemer on Sept. 9, 1962. They started their lives together managing the South Main Standard station in Torrington. Shirley spent her life raising her kids and being an integral part of her grandkid’s lives. She was a devoted mother, wife, daughter, sister and friend who taught anyone who knew her to be better and to love Jesus.
She was preceeded in death by her parents, Rose and Conrad Wunder of Torrington, and her husband, Jim Deemer of Amarillo, Texas.
She is survived by two brothers, Don and John Wunder, both of Torrington; two sisters, Barbara Reed of Torrington and Nancy Wingert of Loveland, Colo.; two sons, James (Rob) Robert Deemer of Amarillo, Edward Deemer of Oklahoma City, Okla., daughter Rebecca Wooten of San Antonio; seven grandchildren, Lilly, Conrad, Chase, James, JR, Lexie, Johnnie; and two great-grandchildren, Asher and Soledad.
As requested, no public service will be held. The family will have a private memorial service at Hillcrest Cemetery in Lingle at a later date to bring her and her beloved husband together.
