GOSHEN COUNTY – Four local wrestlers were recognized as all-conference among the five SEWAC teams, with three Cyclones and a Dogger making the list.
For the Cyclones, senior heavyweight Hunter Woodruff tops the list as a state runner-up in 2A. He finished the year with a 24-9 record, including a 2-1 mark at the state tournament.
Fellow state placers freshman Brock Blevins and senior Chase Lovercheck joined Woodruff on the all-conference list. At 113 pounds, Blevins went 28-10 this year on his way to a fourth-place finish at the state tournament, where he went 3-2. Lovercheck had a record of 4-2 at the state tournament at 152 points on his way to placing fifth. He finished the year with a 40-9 record.
At 126 pounds for the Doggers, Gaven Niles was honored on the SEWAC all-conference list. At the state tournament, the L-FL senior fell in two matches and failed to place, but he still finished the year with a 31-13 record.
Glenrock had the most honorees on the SEWAC all-conference list with five, including the wrestler of the year in Tate Stoddard. Herder coach Nic Dillon was also named coach of the year. Burns/Pines Bluffs and Lusk both had two representatives as well.
