TORRINGTON – The Torrington Tigers Senior Legion baseball team competed in two games in as many days, with both on the road, including a 13-1 loss against Alliance, Neb. on Wednesday.
Torrington hit the road to play Gordon, Neb. on Tuesday, followed by a contest, still in Nebraska, against Alliance.
In a game Wednesday against Alliance, the Tigers fell behind early, allowing two runs in the first. The Spartans exploded for seven runs in the third to go up 9-0. Torrington’s lone run came in the fifth innings, but another four runs tacked on by the Spartans in the sixth put the game out of reach.
Results for Tuesday’s game, as well as stats from both games, were unavailable to the Telegram at press time.
The Tigers return to action Saturday for a nine-inning game against Gordon, with the home game set to start at 2 p.m. On Monday, the team heads for Nebraska against to take on Chadron at 5 p.m., followed by a home double-header against Bridgeport, Neb. on Tuesday, with games at 5 and 7 p.m.
