TORRINGTON – Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Sally Sue Welte, 74, at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 9, 2022 at Saint Rose Catholic Church with Father Dan Kostelc officiating. Burial will follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Lingle, Wyoming. Sally died Nov. 30, 2022 at Goshen Healthcare Community. Memorials may be given to Saint Rose Catholic Church. A Rosary will be recited at 1:30 p.m. at the church. Arrangements are by the Colyer Funeral Home and condolences may be sent to www.colyerfuneralhome.com.

Sally was born March 5, 1948 in Broken Bow, Nebraska the daughter of William and Betty (Crawford) Baburek. She grew up near Ansley, Nebraska where she graduated high school. She then attended Nursing School in Montana. She worked as a nurse in Grand Island, Nebraska before marrying Carl “Joe” Welte on Nov. 26, 1971 in Broken Bow. They lived in Alliance, Nebraska where she again worked as a nurse. They moved to Lingle, Wyoming in 1980 and she worked at the Torrington Medical Group where she retired.

Sally was a member of Saint Rose Catholic Church where she was involved in many church activities. She sewed baby blankets, did cross stitching and made ceramics.

Sally is survived by her husband Carl “Joe” Welte of Torrington; son William (Chris) Welte of Central City, Nebraska; daughter Tammy (Jeffrey) Odell of Greeley, Colorado; a sister Betty Baburek of Broken Bow, Nebraska; and grandchildren Zack, Zander, Zane Welte, and Emma and Nathan Odell.
