TORRINGTON – Ronald Eugene Coen passed away July 4, 2019, at Davis Hospice Center in Cheyenne, Wyo. He fought a courageous battle against cancer.

Ron was born May 6, 1944, the son to Wayne and Naida (Laird) Coen. He grew up and received his education at Hawk Springs, Wyo. He graduated high school in 1962. He received his associate degree from Eastern Wyoming College in 1964.

College is where he met his wife of 54 years, Sharon (Smith) Coen. They were married Sept. 4, 1964 at the Methodist Church.

They have two daughters, Brenda and Carol. They made their home on the family farm east of Hawk Springs, until 1989, when they moved to Greeley, Colo. They moved back to Torrington in 2011 after they retired.

Ron has a passion for fishing – “a bad day of fishing beat a good day at work.” A lot of memories were made at the lake. Ron was a hard working farmer, truck driver, husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Family always came first.

He is preceded in death by his mom and dad.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon of Torrington; daughters, Brenda (Jeff) Parsons of Lodge Pole, Neb. and Carol (Jay) Watson of Torrington; grandchildren, Tyler Gibson of Fort Morgan, Colo., Evan and Taylor Parsons of Sidney, Neb., Jammie (Scott) Letcher of Douglas, Wyo., Courtney Watson of Torrington, Katie and Kayla Watson of Torrington; great grandchildren, Trinity, Destiny and Conner Letcher, and Ayden Watson.

Cremation has taken place and a private family service will take place at a later date.
