Bob was born Feb. 25, 1949, in Torrington, the son of Aurelio and Nattie (Garcia) Otero. He attended Torrington High School and later Eastern Wyoming College. He enlisted in the US Army and served during the Vietnam Conflict. It was during this time he contracted Agent Orange, which would cause him many medical problems during his lifetime. After returning home from the war, he worked briefly at Lincoln Elementary. He later worked at the Torrington Job Service as a job interviewer. He became the Veteran Service Officer (VSO), a position he held for over thirty years until his retirement. He chose to remain in Torrington to be close to his parents.

Bob was a member of Saint Rose Catholic Church, a member of the Knights of Columbus and a lifetime member of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Bob is survived by his siblings Bennie (Diann) Otero, Edwin Otero (Karen Thayer), and Patsy (Antonio) Velazquez and his many nieces and nephews who loved their Uncle Bobby. He was preceded in death by his parents. We are proud of our Vietnam Veteran.
