Riverton grabbed a 14-0 lead after 12 minutes of play, extending the Wolverines lead to 28-7 at the half.

RIVERTON – The Torrington High School Football team got thumped 52-7 on Friday on the road in Riverton.
Riverton grabbed a 14-0 lead after 12 minutes of play, extending the Wolverines lead to 28-7 at the half.
Torrington got its only score of the game late in the half when senior quarterback connected with sophomore receiver Keiser Wolfe on a 12-yard completion.
Riverton went on to score 14 more points in the third quarter and 10 more in the fourth to close out the game.
Sophomore Carson Schultz led the Blazers with 81 yards of rushing, while sophomore Trace Floyd added 72 yards. Both running backs had 11 touches each. Firminhac was 15-of-25 passing for 114 yards.
On the defensive side of the ball, senior Jackson Jones led Torrington with 23 points, including 10 unassisted tackles along with three assisted tackles. Floyd and junior Rhiley Grubbs had five tackles each.
Torrington (1-5 overall and 0-3 in the 3A East) hosts Worland (2-4 and 2-1) at 7 p.m. Friday at Wiseman Field.
