GLENDO – Richard Cunningham, 47, was born on Saturday, Dec. 2, 1972, the son of Johnny and Marilyn Kay (Packard) Cunningham.
Richard passed away at his home in Glendo, on Thursday, April 9, 2020, of natural causes due to a massive heart attack. He grew up and graduated from Torrington High School and became an expert construction worker. Richard was a loving father, son, and brother. Richard possessed an enormous work ethic and an incredible sense of justice that was unwavering. First to lend a hand and a loyal friend, but most importantly was an all-around good man. Richard also enjoyed watching his Raiders win on Sundays, fishing, and always had a good song to play. In his later years of life Richard took up the hobby of playing the blues and taught himself how to play the guitar. He became quite proficient at it and was amazing when others were given the chance to listen to him play.
He is preceded in death by his father, Johnny Cunningham; grandparents, Richard “Dick” and Fatty Cunningham; grandfather, Richard “Dick” Packard; grandmother, Gladys Erlewine-Stellphlug; and uncle, Lloyd Packard.
He is survived by his four sons: Gage Cunningham, Nicholas Cunningham, Trent Welsbacher-Jones, and Douglas Cunningham; one daughter, Serenity Cunningham-Jones; sister, Rebecca Cunningham-Ochs; half-brother, Jason Scheiner; and mother, Marilyn “Kay” Morgan; two nephews Justice and Sebastian Ochs.
Richard you will be sorely missed, and we are lucky enough to have had you in our lives. Looking forward to catching you on the flipside Joe Cool No. 1, and know we love you so much.
The Gorman Funeral Homes – Platte Chapel of Wheatland are in charge of the arrangements.
