TORRINGTON – Pearl I. Mason, 92, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 19, 2018, surrounded by her family at the Goshen Health Care Community in Torrington.

Pearl was born Aug. 3, 1925, to Henry and Francis Blume in Alliance, Neb. Pearl and Lee Mason were married on July 6, 1948. 

She was a dedicated volunteer as a Cub Scout Den Mother, Blue Bird Leader, 4H Leader and with the Music Parents Association. An avid volunteer for Alliance, she was active in the Friends of the Library and the founding of the Knight Museum. As an avid Santa Claus collector, she loved the Christmas Season.

She is survived by her children, Darrell (Elaine) Mason of Thornton, Colo., Marilyn (Louis) Kuhnel of Torrington, and Marie (Scott) Stackenwalt of Austin, Minn.; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee R. Mason, her parents, Henry and Francis Blume, her twin sister Martha Blume, and her two brothers, Edwin and Butch Blume. 

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. on Monday, June 25, 2018, at the Bates-Gould Chapel in Alliance. Jeanie Sedivy will officiate. Burial will be in the Nebraska Veterans Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Knight Museum in Alliance, Neb. 

The family would like to thank Prairie Pine Lodge in Chadron, Neb., and the Goshen Health Care Community in Torrington for the excellent care they provided to both our mother and father.
