TORRINGTON – Memorial services for Nancy E. Debolt, 71, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 22, 2017 at All Saints Episcopal Church with The Rev. Brian Gross officiating. Nancy died at Community Hospital Dec. 13, 2017 and cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the All Saints Episcopal Church Endowment Fund. Arrangements are by the Colyer Funeral Home and condolences may be sent to www.colyerfuneralhome.com. 
Nancy was born Oct. 21, 1946 in Santa Monica, Calif., the daughter of William and Edna (Abbott) Smith. They moved to Bayard, Neb., when she was five years old and later to Torrington, where she received her education, graduating from Torrington High School in 1964. She then attended the University of Wyoming where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Education.
She married Gary DeBolt on Aug. 3, 1968. They lived in Green River, where she taught school. She also taught school in Gordon, before they moved to Nebraska City, Neb., where she began her career in healthcare. They moved back to Torrington in 1977 where she worked for the Goshen Care Center until her health disabled her.
Nancy loved spending time with family and her dog Chip and granddog Moses. She was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church, where she held and served in several positions. She enjoyed music and played guitar and wrote music, including a Christmas Cantata. She enjoyed the Colorado Rockies and the Denver Broncos.
While working at Goshen Care Center she wrote two books to help families deal with nursing home care and for staff at nursing homes. She developed and created the first degree program for activities directors at Casper College. She was President of the National Association of Activities Professionals and helped develop requirements for activities directors.
Nancy is survived by her husband Gary of Torrington; daughters Sarah DeBolt of Torrington, and Rachel (Kevin) Murphy of Cheyenne; a son Scott (Jennifer) DeBolt of Las Vegas, Nev.; sisters Judy (Jim) Vandel of Torrington and Kathy Daulton of Star Valley Ranch; and grandchildren Jacob Bartow, Paul (Keri) Bartow, Stephanie Bartow, Layney DeBolt, Avery DeBolt and Nikki (Tyler) Reeh. She was preceded in death by her parents.
