TORRINGTON – Funeral services for Minnie E. Reed, 89, will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2019, at the Colyer Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Matt Gordon officiating. Burial will follow in the Valley View Cemetery. 

Minnie died Sept. 8, 2019, at Davis Hospice Center in Cheyenne. Memorials may be given to either Regional West Hospice or Davis Hospice Center. Visitation will be on Monday from 3 to 5 p.m. and the casket will be open briefly following the service. Minnie was born Aug. 28, 1930, in Torrington, the daughter of Jacob and Pauline (Bott) Schreiner. She grew up and received her education in Torrington, graduating Torrington High School. She married Ivan Bath and they had six children and were later divorced. She married Jim Williams. He died in 1973. She worked at Community Hospital as a nurse’s aide. She married Jim Reed and they moved to South Dakota then to Montana and then back to South Dakota. They were later divorced. She stayed in Belle Fourche, S.D., where she worked various jobs for 30 years. In May 2019 she moved to Torrington to live with her daughter.

Minnie enjoyed knitting, crocheting, gardening and being with family and friends.

Minnie is survived by five daughters: Sandra (Gary) Heil of Torrington, Shelley (Richard) Carruthers of Cheyenne, Sindy Olson of Douglas, Susan Travis of Denver, Colo., and Sharon (Jerry) Notman of Guernsey; a son, John (Donna) Bath of Torrington; a sister, Betty (Allen) Miller of Torrington; 14 grandchildren; and numerous great and great-great-grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, one husband, two brothers, two sisters, two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
