Manuel (Brent) Mendiola

PUEBLO, Colo. – Manuel (Brent) Mendiola, 55 of Pueblo, Colo. passed away on Sept. 13, 2020. A memorial service will be held at Riverside Church, 615 Main street, Torrington at 10:30 a.m. with Gary Flom officiating. 

Brent was born Aug. 25, 1965 to Manuel and Shirley Mendiola in Pueblo. 

He graduated from Central High with Honors in 1983.  He moved to Torrington, where he met and married Stacie Wilhelm in 2000. They welcomed a son Nathaniel Mendiola who passed in infancy. They later divorced. 

In 2002, he welcomed a son with Amanda Baker, Jaedyn Brent Mendiola. 

In 2005, he met Rachel Marie Escamilla, who would go on to be his long-time girlfriend of 15 years. They had plans to marry, but God had other plans for his life and took him home. 

In 2015, Brent moved back to Pueblo to care for his mother. 

He held many jobs while living in Torrington, he worked at Burger King, Community Hospital, Kelly Bean, Highway Liquor, and Mainstreet Saloon. 

Brent had lots of family and friends that cared for him deeply. 

He is preceded in death by his son Nathaniel Mendiola: father Manual Mendiola Sr.; mother Shirley Ann Suarez Mendiola; sister Suzanne Mendiola Hernandez.

Brent is survived by his son Jaedyn Mendiola of Torrington, ex-wife Stacie Wilhelm of Cheyenne, girlfriend Rachel Escamilla of Gering, Neb., Aunt Sally (second Mom) and Uncle John Hernandez of Pueblo, Colorado, and many cousins, aunts, and uncles from Torrington.
