Lois Imogene Heinz Riggins

SURPRISE, Ariz. – Lois passed away in Surprise at age 91. She was the oldest child of George M. and Marjorie L. (Canfield) Heinz and spent her early childhood days at the farm in Sioux County, Nebraska attending elementary school at Chalk Buttes. Lois graduated in 1947 from Torrington High School and attended the University of Wyoming where she pledged Tri Delta Sorority. She left after one year to marry Edward E. Riggins of Torrington at the Church of Transfiguration in Jackson in June 1948. 

They returned to Laramie for Ed to complete his education and lived in the pre-fab military barracks buildings. Ed and Lois had three children: Jerry, Lana and Cherre. After completing his degree in Civil Engineering, Ed worked for Chicago Bridge and Iron, moving the family to many cities including Birmingham, Alabama, Chicago, Illinois, Salt Lake City, Utah and finally Sierra Madre, California. In California, Lois began working in financial services and real estate until she and Ed retired. After Ed died, she moved to Arizona to be closer to family.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents, husband (1995) and daughter, Cherre (2014). She is survived by her son, Jerry (Vicki) Wickenburg, daughter, Lana Danta, Camarillo, California; granddaughters, Jenna Danta and Shelley Danta; sisters, Marj Flinn, Mesa, and Janice Brockman, Lincoln, California; brother, Bryan (Donna Cay) of Torrington.
