Locals highlight Panhandle Prep All-Star basketball games

SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. – The 29th annual Panhandle Prep All-Star Game is scheduled for Friday, May 26 at Scottsbluff High School.

All three Goshen County schools will be represented.

On the girls’ game, Southeast’s Sydney Anderson, Shelby Ekwall and Brenna Herring, along with Torrington’s Marissa Moorehouse will play together on the Red Team. Burns’ Barry Ward and Hay Springs’ Ron Olson will lead their team.

On the other side of the court, Lingle-Fort Laramie’s Ashlee Hattan and Southeast’s Kealy Carson will play for the Blue Team. Randy Hurlburt of Gordon-Rushville and Stephen Crile of Alliance will coach the Blue Team.

In the boys’ game, Torrington’s Skyler Sargent will play for the Red Team, while Torrington’s Ryan Baker and Southeast’s Austin Short will play for the Blue Team.

Tyler Kimsey of Pine Bluffs and Cory Mickelman of Potter-Dix will lead the Red Team, while Joel Nelson of Gordon-Rushville and Shawn Dillehay of Sidney will coach the Blue Team.

The girls’ game will tip off at 5:30 p.m. with the boys’ game to follow. At halftime of the girls’ game, a dunk contest will take place, and in between games, a 3-point contest will take place. A scholarship presentation will be made at halftime of the boys’ game.
