TORRINGTON – Funeral services for Lillian C. Day, 96, will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 9, 2018, at the Colyer Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Don Mathis officiating. Burial will follow in the Caldwell Cemetery near Lyman, Neb. 

Lillian died Nov. 6, 2018, at Goshen Healthcare Community. Visitation will be Thursday from 3 to 5 p.m. and the casket will be open briefly following the service. Arrangements are by the Colyer Funeral Home and condolences may be sent to www.colyerfuneralhome.com. 

Lillian was born March 28, 1922, in Lincoln, Neb., the daughter of John and Catherine (Kahler) Maul. She received her education in Lincoln before the family moved to Lyman. 

She married Glenn Lowery on Nov. 27, 1941, in Lyman. They lived in the Lyman area until Glenn died in 1963. She moved to Yoder in 1967 and married Charles Day on April 24, 1967. They were later divorced. She worked as an assistant librarian at the Southeast School in Yoder from 1981 until 1994. She moved to Torrington in 1995.

Lillian enjoyed working in her flower gardens and her yard, baking cookies for everyone, embroidery, reading, and antelope and deer hunting. She was a member of the South Goshen Presbyterian Church, the Happy Hour Club in Lyman and the Yoder Extension Club until the club joined the Torrington club.

Lillian is survived by her daughter Judy Thomas and her husband Victor of Pocatello, Idaho; a son Frank Lowery and his wife Penny of Torrington; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Glenn Lowery; a son Tom Lowery; a daughter Ruby Henry; a grandson; eight brothers; and one sister.
