LUSK – The Lingle-Fort Laramie/Southeast wrestling team competed in two tournaments over the opening weekend.

On Friday, the team traveled north to Lusk for the Tiger Invite.

As a team, LFLSE finished second with 236 points in the 15-team tournament. Moorcroft won the team title with 367.5 points, while Glenrock was third with 182.

Every single LFLSE wrestler placed in the top 10 in the respective weight divisions.

In the varsity division, Emmett Coxbill (220 pounds), Louden Bremer (152) and Kaleb Brothwell (138) picked up individual titles on the day.

Coxbill went 5-0 on the day with four fall victories, along with a forfeit victory in the championship match, while Bremer also picked up four fall wins and an 11-6 decision. Meanwhile, Brothwell went 5-0 with five pins on the day.

Carter Blevins (170 pounds) placed second, losing both his matches to James Long of Moorcroft, while Wyatt Sylvester (126) and Jaden VanGundy (160) finished third in their respective weight classes.

Colter McFarlin (220) and Teigen Thompson (182) finished fourth, while Brayden Posten (126), Mason Sorensen (126), Wyatt Feyereisen (138), Lance York (170), Taylor Swartwood (182) and Gage Gibson (182) placed eight. Giden Boyd finished ninth at 106 pounds, while Connor Curry was 10th at 195 pounds.

The team also had three compete in the women’s division.

At 110 pounds, Molly Hasbargen finished fourth, going 2-3 on the day, while Kennedi Blevins won four straight matches by fall after losing her first-round match to finish second. At 145 pounds, Josie Houk scored four fall victories to pick up the tournament title.

In the junior varsity ranks, Brayden Dykes finished second at 152 pounds, while Wyatt Gladson placed fourth at 145 pounds.

Brothwell wins at Charlie Lake Invite

On Saturday, the LFLSE team took a small group of varsity wrestlers to compete in the Charlie Lake Invite hosted by Cheyenne East High School.

Brothwell remained unbeaten on the season, going 4-0 to win the 138-pound individual championship. He scored two fall victories and a pair of decision wins.

Sylvester and Bremer went 2-2 on the day. Both reached the consolation semifinal round of their brackets.

LFLSE travels to Mitchell, Nebraska on Friday, Dec. 16. The dual was originally scheduled for Thursday but was pushed back a day because of the winter storm. The dual will be held at the Mitchell Elementary Gym at 6 p.m. On Saturday, the team travels to Hot Springs, South Dakota for the Hot Springs Invite.
