LFLSE 2-1 at Southeast Duals

Blevins picks up career win No. 100

YODER – Southeast High School hosted the annual Southeast Duals on Saturday, and the No. 3 ranked Lingle-Fort Laramie/Southeast team went 2-1 on the day.

LFLSE opened the day with a 63-12 win over the Cheyenne Central JV Indians.

LFLSE lost only two matches in the dual and one of those was an open weight at 160 pounds.

Josie Houk opened the dual with a 9-4 win at 126 pounds, and Jaden Houk scored a pin at 132 pounds. Cooper Fauber (138 pounds) and Gage Gibson (145) got pins in under a minute. At 182 pounds, Ethan Steinausen also got a win by fall in 2 minutes, 22 seconds.

Cheyenne Central was open at 152, 220 and 285 pounds before Brock Blevins and Kaleb Brothwell got wins by fall at 113 and 120 pounds.

Blevins’ win at 113 pounds was win No. 100 of his high school career.

In the second round, LFLSE defeated Niobrara County 52-18.

Five open weights added the home team’s win.

Fauber got an 11-2 major decision, while Steinhausen scored his second pin of the day. Grant Logsdon (106) and Brothwell rounded the dual with falls.

In the final round of the day, the Wind River Cougars got the best of LFLSE 46-34.

Wind River opened the dual with five straight wins, including three falls, a tech fall and a forfeit.

Steinhausen got LFLSE on the scoreboard courtesy of a forfeit at 182 pounds. The next win for the home team came at 285 and 106 pounds where Wind River was open in both weights.

At 113 pounds, Blevins got a pin in 1:23, and Brothwell got a 12-4 major decision at 120 pounds. Wind River was open at 132 pounds to close out the dual.

On Tuesday evening, LFLSE lost to Burns/Pine Bluffs 54-22 in Yoder.

The visitors opened the match with four straight wins, including a decision win at 182 and a fall at 285, while LFLSE was open at 195 and 220.

Burns/Pine Bluffs was open at 106, and Blevins got a fall at 113 pounds. Brothwell followed it up with a 9-0 major decision

At 132 pounds, Jaden Houk scored the final points of the evening for LFLSE with a third period pin.

LFLSE travels to Cheyenne East for a dual on Friday for a 5 p.m. contest to wrap up the regular season after the Carbon County Invite was canceled earlier this week.
