LFL sweeps Guernsey

LINGLE – The Lingle-Fort Laramie High School volleyball team cruised to a 3-0 sweep over the Guernsey-Sunrise Lady Vikings on Friday evening for Homecoming.

The Lady Doggers scored a 25-11, 25-20, 25-12 win over the visitors.

The win was the fifth of the season for LFL.

Senior Kamryn Rafferty led the team with eight kills, while junior Natalie Speckner added seven. Sophomore Brenly Shipp had six. Freshman Hallie Fuller led the team with two solo blocks, while Shipp had one. Senior Ashlee Hattan tallied a team-high 20 digs. As a team, the Lady Doggers had seven aces, led by senior Maddy Saul with two. Speckner, Rafferty, Leah Foster, Skyla Wunder and senior Baylee Skinner had one apiece.

The Lady Doggers are now 5-6-1 overall and 2-0 in the Class 2A Southeast Quadrant. They travel to Burns (12-6-2) for a quadrant matchup at 4 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 23 and will travel to Lusk for the Niobrara County Invite on Saturday. LFL is scheduled to play Upton, Guernsey, Hanna-Elk Mountain and Wright over the course of the day. All of the Lady Dogger matches will be played in the Lusk Elementary/Middle School gym. Action is scheduled to get underway at 9 a.m.
