LINGLE – For the third week in a row, the Lingle-Fort Laramie High School football team’s defense held their opponent out of the end zone.
This time, it was the Doggers coming away with an 80-0 victory over the Guernsey-Sunrise Vikings, who are still looking for their first win since moving up to the Class 1A 9-Man division this season.
It didn’t take long for Lingle to get on the scoreboard, and it happened often throughout the first half.
Lingle’s first three runs resulted in three touchdowns from three different players.
The rushing scores came from Kaiden Riggs on a 45-yard run, Brian McCoid on an 11-yard keeper and Nolan Spears on a 37-yard run.
The Doggers also threw the ball twice in the opening quarter, and both pass attempts went for touchdowns from McCoid to Louden Bremer.
Mix in a safety by Cooper Smith in the first quarter, the Doggers led 43-0 after only 12 minutes of play.
In the second quarter, Lingle poured on 34 more points. LFL added three more rushing touchdowns and one more through the air.
In all, Lingle racked up 340 yards of offense, including 240 on the ground and 100 through the air.
However, it wasn’t just the offense who produced scores for the Doggers.
Special teams also scored twice on blocked kicks from Boyd Oliver and Corey Ducheneaux, and Anthony Arnusch booted a 27-yard field goal in the fourth quarter.
The Vikings totaled -51 yards of offense over the course of the game.
Bremer, Owen Schilreff, Hadley Fleming, Brady Cook and Aidan Mattheus led Lingle with three solo tackles each. Smith had two tackles for loss, while Schilreff tallied the game’s lone sack.
Through three games, the Doggers have now outscored their opponents 192-0.
This week, Lingle (3-0 overall and 2-0 in the 9-Man East Conference) travels to Wright (0-3 and 0-2). The Panthers are coming off a 40-18 loss to Pine Bluffs last Friday. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
