TORRINGTON – Larry David Dodge, 78, died Monday, Dec. 25, 2017, at Community Hospital in Torrington.
Memorial services will be 2 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 2, at the Colyer Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Marty Rostad officiating.  Cremation has taken place.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to either Eastern Wyoming College or Valley Christian School in Larry’s name.

Larry was born Oct. 10, 1939, in Lexington, Neb., the son of Chet and Marie (Miller) Dodge.  The family moved to Torrington in 1948 and Larry graduated from Torrington High School in 1958.  He married Linda Hinze in 1960 and the couple later divorced.  Larry graduated from the University of Wyoming in 1962 and taught at THS for a couple of years before attending Cornell University.  He earned a Master’s Degree from Cornell in 1964. 
Larry then returned to teaching high school mathematics until he secured a job at Eastern Wyoming College.  Not only did he teach Mathematics at EWC but he was also Dean of Students, Assistant Dean, Dean and Interim President throughout the years he was employed there.  Larry retired from EWC in 1996, at the age of 55 but continued to teach at the college part time, until 2002.
He was an avid golfer who loved crosswords, Sudoku, bridge and pinochle. He also enjoyed reading.  Education was always very important to him. Larry was a member of the Masonic Lodge #29, Eastern Star Chapter #22, Scottish Rite Cheyenne Valley, Korein Shrine Temple in Rawlins, and a past member of Mathematical Association of America (MAA).
Survivors include his daughter Laurie (Fred) Reichert of Torrington; two grandchildren, Sarah and Matthew Reichert and his sister Nancy (Howard) Stewart of New York.
Preceding him in death were his parents; a sister at birth and his brother Bruce.
