DOUGLAS – The Lingle-Fort Laramie Lady Doggers came out of the gates slow on Friday against Midwest at the 1A East Regional Tournament in Douglas, but made up the early difference in a win over the Lady Oilers.
The Lady Oilers came out hot and kept the Lady Doggers scoreless for several minutes, but L-FL closed out the first quarter on a run, trimming the Midwest lead to 17-12. L-FL tied the game up at 17 early in the second, before taking a 29-27 lead into halftime. The Lady Doggers found themselves up 46-33 after the third quarter and they cruised to the 53-37 lead, with Midwest playing with only four players due to foul troubles for part of the fourth quarter.
L-FL returns to the floor in Douglas tomorrow at 12 p.m. for a matchup against the loser between Guernsey-Sunrise and Hulett. If the Lady Doggers win, they secure a spot in the state tournament, but a loss sends them home for the year.
